The best job EVER!

Sometimes life gets so busy I forget to be thankful for what I have. Being a Mom is one of those things.
I lose sight of this precious gift when I am being woken up nightly at 2am or 4am or 6am or anytime in between for all the reasons under the moon, I am asked 1 billion questions that Luke, in turn, already knows the answer to, or when I spend my meals worrying if he will barf when eating something new!
All of these things are so small in comparison to the day I became a Mom! What a cool and awesome job! It makes me love and appreciate my own Mom that much more. No one will ever be able to tell you how much you will love this job. It is thankless, tiresome, and just plain HARD WORK and at the end of the day worth it enough to do it all over again!

Of all the things I love about Lucas, I LOVE watching this dude mature and grow, question, love, and become his own person. He is beyond sweet and stubborn all in the same breath. Thank you Lucas Corgan for giving me the best Mother's Day gift-YOU!

Here is my latest favorite picture of him....

Happy Mother's Day!

Teacher Appreciation Week!

That's right-its Teacher Appreciation Week! I work at a fabulous school that goes all out for us and helps us SURVIVE the last couple of weeks left in the school year. So far, we have had a yummy breakfast, snacks galore, Jason's Deli for lunch, and tomorrow we have a snacks and yaks after school! The kids have been so cute as well. I have received loads of homemade cards and poems (that are beyond adorable), the whole class wore my favorite color to school, beautiful flowers, and 2 awesome room mommas are "taking over" for me tomorrow to relax for an hour. God Bless Them!

Chelsea and Me at our breakfast. I hid my plate so you would not see what a glutenous pig I am!

This week has also been a week of "firsts" for me. I have taught First Grade for 9 years, so not too many things surprise me much anymore, well until this week. I have seen a student taking a #2 with the bathroom door wide open and not really care or get embarrassed, I heard a cell phone ringing from a first graders backpack, and we have adopted some new baby kitties in the front bushes of the building (well, no one knows we have adopted them but they will be fed by some responsible helpers in the class!) My job never gets old!!!

Teachers, you ROCK!

Thrills, Deals, and Meals

What a quick weekend! Why, Why, Why do they go so fast?????

Every Friday night North Richland Hills is featuring The Sounds of Spring concert series. We decided to get out and enjoy some gorgeous Texas Spring weather with two of our favorite people, Kev and Cole! Petty Theft was the featured band and the 3 P1's got to see some Old Gray Wolf (?????). We also enjoyed the 3D fireworks show afterwards. Um, by the way, what is not in 3D anymore?

On Saturday we held our annual garage sale at my parents house. Gosh, it takes a lot of time and energy to get rid of junk. But as expected, we were nearly sold out by 9:30!

Some observations included:

*people love to buy bras when clearly they would NEVER be able to squeeze their busoms into them

*they want anything and everything for 25cents, including Coach purses and Fossil watches

*they do not want hair extensions or computers

*short and tight must be fashionable to wear when attending garage sales

This was the home cooked meal we feasted on Sunday evening! Thank you old man Winter for one last go round!
Thank you Keko for the rockin' Chicken Pot Pie!
