The Royal Wedding

6:20 a.m. ET: It's official: Prince William and Kate Middleton are now man and wife and the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.

I forgot that today was the BIG event and heard about it on the radio to work this morning. I couldn't wait to watch it on You Tube on my gigantic projector screen before my kids got here. I must say it was breathtaking and the moment Prince William turned around and saw his bride for the first time, I cried!

Boo to the negative Nellies who have been bad-mouthing the event.

Yeah for a news event that lifts you up!

Happy Royal Friday Peeps!

Big Top

We are the type of people who name everything, including our house. The new house cannot be "ours" until she has a proper name. After doing some brainstorming Mike has crowned her "Big Top" due to the enormous peaks on the house and the name of our street has a circus-ish ring to it!
Here are some new pics of her progress...they are predicting a May 26th closing date:)

Hoppy Easter!

We had a fabulous Easter weekend! Sara and I went shopping while the boys ate their weight in Genghis Grill Friday night. Then it was soccer bright and early Saturday morning! The Soccer Bugs are doing great! They are some goal scoring machines! The coaches aren't doing half bad either!!!!

You will notice Mike on the ground...

No, he did not get beat up by a Soccer bug, he's playing a game of Bee Sting

On Sunday, Sara and Shane got to celebrate a lazy Sunday...lucky ducks! We celebrated at the crack of dawn with a visit from the Easter Bunny himself. I am not really that great at starting traditions, so I was determined that I would really play the Easter bunny up this year! I told Luke to hide his eyes so the bunny could sneak into the house and leave his goodies. The child who NEVER follows great directions was as still as a statue and quiet as a mouse! Look what the Easter bunny left...

Heaven in a wrapper!

What rocker doesn't need a neck full of guitar necklaces?

We spent the afternoon at Nanny's house celebrating.

This dude collected 40 eggs. Perks of being an only child!

The rest of the day was spent relaxing and weather watching!

This Texas weather has been crazy nuts!

I hope you had a blessed Easter with your family!

Barf, Blood, and a BAD attitude

Living with a 4 year old is never boring! After a slow transition into living with Aunt Keko and Uncle Dodi, I thought we were hitting our stride when-BAM! the bottom falls out! Luke was pretty quiet on Wednesday (clue #1) after swim and all he wanted to do was finish dinner and go straight to bed (clue #2). After a bath we went to say our good nights to the fam, where he snuggled with Dodi (clue #3). When we went into his room to put on his magnets for the day I turned around to see a horrified look on his face that was then followed by large quantities of the Exorcist style vomit all over the momma. OMG! I began to make some weird rescue call to my sister where I stood and continued to be pummelled by Luke's stomach contents! Mike was gone to soccer (of course) so Sara and Shane quickly took charge! I'm talkin' drill Sargent orders!!! He was sick off and on for the rest of the night and I began praying to God for mercy on the family. We can officially say we have "been there, done that" with the stomach bug about 3 months ago. He woke up all bright-eyed and ready to rock the next morning. Aren't kids resilient? On Friday afternoon while at Granny and Paw Paw's house, Luke was letting our dog, Sophie back in the house. Well, if you live in Texas you know the wind has been crazy bonkers. So, the wind caught the door along with my Dad helping Luke hold the door and-BAM! out goes Luke, who caught himself with his face on the concrete. A skinless nose, a huge egg bruise, and a scratched hand, Luke is fine and my Dad is still apologizing and cussing the wind! On Sunday morning our little angel woke up at the crack of dawn in a "not so chipper" mood. I hate days like these because I know that short of buying him a rocket ship we are in for a day of time-outs, booty spanks, and pure torture! Today was no different. He was not happy about anything and the lovely folks at Kroger got to witness this first hand! We told him that we would get him his very own little shopping cart for grocery shopping. There were none (of course) which sent him into a tailspin. Note to self-don't promise anything you are not sure of! He was full throttle at this point. I had a super small window of opportunity-I could either try, beg, and plead for him to make "good choices" or just remove him from the store audience. I chose to grab him VERY firmly and march him out of the store, leaving the buggy and Mike to finish the food mission. The man begging for money for his son's baseball team must have seen the "Mom look" and the "Oh, no you don't" on my face because he did not speak a word as we left, even though he was hounding everyone like crazy as they entered and exited the store. We sat, which seemed like forever, silent in the car having a long time out. Mike made it out and you could see the look of fear as to what he would find left of Luke in the car! We went home and he took a LONG time out/nap! All seemed well in the world for the rest of the evening, until we looked up in the sky last night to see a
FULL MOON!
Lord help his teacher today and his Mommy tonight!

So long, farewell...

We can no longer call Judy our house. That feels weird. She officially became someone else's girl on Friday. We have been so preoccupied packing that I really didn't think I had time to reflect or be sad, but boy was I wrong. Last Sunday when all the neighbors and kids were out playing, as we all did on most beautiful weekends, we were stuck inside packing away all our fond memories of our girl. When we all met outside on Thursday night I cried like I was loosing a family and I did in a way. Let's just say Judy has seen the best and worst over the past 8 years.

Mike and I moved into our first home on January 31st, 2003. We were newly married and had so many hopes and dreams to fulfill. Judy saw us through most of those adventures. Please allow me to share with you a highlight reel of January 31 2003-April 8, 2011...

* Ripping off all the 80's mauve and teal flower wallpaper!

*DIY projects that were a hit (texturing) and miss (back patio)

*Many a fun Christmas and NYE parties

*Wolf pack meetings in the front yard

*Watching all the littles turn into biggies

*No shortage of Judy drama~break in's, break up's, too much of this and that:)

*Power outages and car wrecks

*Guitar Hero jam sessions

*Bringing home new puppies, rabbits, and a baby

*Great neighbors who became great friends

*Love, laughter, and heartbreak

We will love and miss you old girl! We look forward to seeing what you will provide for the new owners and we hope they love you and respect you, cause girl you deserve it!

Maniac Monday

On the Move

I never really thought about the transition Luke would go through when moving(duh!)

Now that we are living with Aunt Keko and Uncle Dodi he gets lots of attention-good and bad! I have noticed that he now has more of an audience when he is acting naughty. This is rough! He really puts on a show and all his bad habits are in full effect! We added "No bad words" to his behavior chart in hopes that he will chill with using "lame and fool" when referring to someone!
Mike and I were making a trip to Wally and I asked him how he liked living with Keko and Dodi. He said he only liked it a little. Then we drove past ol' Judy and he started calling out everyone's names and stuff they enjoyed, like "There's Mason's car. He likes to drive that car real fast!"
On the flip side, he has slept amazing in his new room and even met a new "guuurl" at the park! My Mom took him to a carnival over the weekend and he won a goldfish, which he creatively named Goldy!

Here are some pictures from our week{end}...

Luke and Dad on the bumper cars! This guy loves him a pink hoopty car!

Into the Woods Wednesday

Life in Woods World is CRAZY Nuts right now! The house selling is taking a lot longer than expected and we are living out of a cardboard box! Boo! Seriously sending my OCD tendencies into overdrive! Here is what's been going on over the weekend with us....

Lucas had his first Soccer game!

Mike had his first coaching experience!

Go Soccer BUGS!

Lucas did the robot during the game! We encouraged him to do this for the half time show next week and not during the game!

Lucas went with the boys to Supercross! This is the cool hat he got with his Cotton Candy!
